I’m sure their web people know that renewing a cert won’t fully fix this till they install the updated certificate as it won’t automatically.

That said, it should have fixed it within minutes of being installed.

As far as I can guess, a site/server certificate (used for https and encrypted game connection) issued by Comodo to Cloudcade with a 3-year validity from 2015-03-17 till 2018-03-17 expired. So I guess in the personel shuffling over the past years, responsibility for keeping track of certificate expire time ended up not assigned to anyone and either Codomo didn't send a "hey, your certificate is about to expire" mail or somehow Cloudcade didn't read it. I'm a bit confused though that Darkis said they've requested a renew, but it hasn't been issued and installed yet. (If Comodo/the reseller(?) they originally got the cert from doesn't have some kind of web interface to renew the cert within minutes, then it's a bit of a dinosaur in 2018; heck depending on the reading speed of a Cloudcade sys admin, a (temporary) switch to a valid free cert by Let's Encrypt within 1-2 hours of noticing the problem should have been possible...) I'm guessing for some odd reason they are now waiting for Comodo/the reseller to say "here's the new certificate" before they can install it.

(except for tier 1 and some tier 2 artifacts mostly running my shop/gearing self sufficient)

I’ve experienced some incompetence in my time, but they’ve broken through to a whole, new level here that I knew nothing about.

My guess on why it’s taking this long, is that the people who need to sort all this out were off for the weekend and the company is too tight to pay them overtime to come in, so us players suffer due to lack of staff at weekends(seen this sort of thing in other online companies, Jagex comes to mind straight away)
