hmm... i've been considering creating a google sheets version, but it's quite complex, and all the named ranges take up a ton of ram

sheet as-is will die in sheets (hence why I don't offer it), but you may be able to do something far less intensive with SQL lookups (which may or may not also break it). Even if you cut down teams to say 5, 5*6*7 is 210 SQL lookups and then a few more than that in vlookups to get the stats from the gear people pick.

i dont use vlookups for gear, just have an auto-updating table with named ranges.

=importrange("https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1JVWQgnTxkFJDTGwPnDWiMuCtSRAc7z3SKQSkjRScAPw","All Heros Automatic!B20:ZZ")

the fun part is making a named range for each of those, with just the gear in it, (google really needs to add batch capability to named ranges)

here's an example i did back in dec for that quest party calculator that kaisies made...

(warning, this sheet uses about 2 gigs of ram)

the difficult part with your sheet is that you don't have fixed locations for the heroes, so i'd have to add even more named ranges for the heroes, and a script (to enable dynamic dropdowns)

It honestly wouldn't be the worst tradeoff ever to have a fixed sheet to input gear and then see team composition results on the side. That way you get around the needing dynamic lists.

Let's hypothetically say that a new hero were to be released at some stage in the future, not that there has been anything like a leak on this, would it be difficult to add them to the sheet?
